Vision Pro to launch 'sometime around March', potentially alongside OLED iPad Pro as company prepares developers
Apple's announcement of the VisionPro μας έδωσε μια γεύση για το τι θα μπορούσε να είναι το μέλλον των φορητών υπολογιστών. Το σετ μικροφώνου-ακουστικού αποκαλύφθηκε στην εκδήλωση της εταιρείας WWDC 2023, with an estimated launch around early next year. It was previously speculated that the Vision Pro would launch in January, but it looks like the company has a lot of work to do before making it available to the general public.
Apple will release the Vision Pro in March, possibly alongside new OLED iPad Pro models
While the company has distribution plans to test the Vision Pro, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports in his latest Power On Newsletter that the headphones will be released "sometime around March". Initially, the handset will launch in the United States and gradually expand to other regions later next year.
Apple officially said that the Vision Pro would be released early next year, but failed to give an exact release date. Once the handset is available, it will be sold by appointment at an Apple retail store. You can also access the device through Apple's online stores. The company does not plan to offer the Vision Pro headset through third-party sellers as it wants to make the distribution experience smooth for the end user.
For a number of reasons, it would be a hassle for third-party sellers to sell Vision Pro. For example, the Apple Store can offer custom bands and prescription lenses for the wearable by appointment. Third-party vendors will have to stock different variations of the headbands and lenses to provide to users. Stockpiling hundreds of SKUs for the seller will take up space and could impose a heavy storage cost.
Η Apple έχει επίσης σταματήσει τη δουλειά της στο iOS 18, το watchOS 11 και το MacOS 15 to fix its existing updates. Potentially, Apple also took a break from the software mentioned above to fix bugs and issues in visionOS.
The latest version of visionOS hosts embedded videos and hardware for users, which Apple is preparing at the end, hinting that the company plans to release the Vision Pro headset in January. iOS 17.2 beta also hosts some companion items for Vision Pro, such as AirPlay Receiver and support for recording Spatial Videos on the iPhone 15 Pro.
We suspect that Apple could host its spring event sometime around March to launch the Vision Pro headphones. Apple also plans to release new OLED iPad Pro models around the same time. The company could offer additional demonstrations of Vision Pro features that weren't previously ready at the WWDC announcement. The headphones will be available at a hefty price tag of $3.499.
