If you've watched a Galaxy S launch before, you know that new models usually start selling out quickly after the announcement. Unlike Apple, Samsung doesn't leave a big gap between the announcement and the pre-order date.

That being said, there is usually a small gap between the pre-order date and the release date.

With that in mind, here's what you need to know about Galaxy S24 pre-orders as we head towards the end of the year and closer to the inevitable Galaxy S24 announcement.

Galaxy S24 pre-order date

Again, Samsung has yet to confirm the Galaxy S24 event, but sources believe the company is targeting January 17 for its Unpacked event.

South Korean publication The Elect they are the latest source to report the date, and their information is consistent with everything we've heard so far.

If this date holds, it means Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra pre-orders will start shortly after the event ends.

We'll either see Galaxy S24 pre-orders start on Wednesday January 17th or Thursday January 18th. Exact time will vary by region.

Assuming all models will be released at the same time, you can expect the Galaxy S24 pre-order period to run from January 17/18 to January 30. Samsung usually has a pretty long pre-order period.

The Elect believes the Galaxy S24 release date will fall on January 30, which is in line with the protocol Samsung used for previous Galaxy S releases.

We haven't seen any supply chain rumors hinting at shortages, but if you want a very specific Galaxy S24 model as soon as possible, you might want to place a pre-order.

Galaxy S24 pre-order time

This brings us to Galaxy S24 pre-order time. Based on previous years, we have a good feeling we know when Galaxy S24 pre-orders will start.

In recent years, Samsung and its partners have opened Galaxy S24 pre-orders shortly after the Unpacked event. This is what we expect from the pre-order time of the Galaxy S24.

We don't know what time the Unpacked event will start, but it's safe to assume it will start early in the morning, probably around 10am. east.

If you live on the west coast of the United States and want to buy a Galaxy S24 model the second pre-orders open, get ready to do so in the morning.

As well as the pre-order date, look for Samsung to confirm the pre-order time on USA and in other regions, during the Unpacked event.

Where to buy the Galaxy S24

Once Galaxy S24 pre-orders begin, you'll be able to purchase the device in several different places. From Samsung itself, your carrier, to retailers, there will be plenty of options.

You can expect the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra to be compatible with a wide range of carriers, so if you're not stuck with one, be sure to shop around during the pre-order period.

We haven't heard much about the Galaxy S24's price, which means we could see the new models align with the Galaxy S23's prices.

If that's the case, the Galaxy S24 will start at $799,99 and go all the way up to $1199,99 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra. You'll need to pay more if you want more storage.

This can be a tough pill to swallow for those on a budget, but the Offers trade-ins are available when Galaxy S24 pre-orders begin. These will help you save money. In some cases, many of them.

Samsung, carriers and retailers will offer significant trade-in deals to offset the cost of these flagship phones.

We don't know how much they'll offer yet, but if you own a newer device and plan to buy it, make sure to keep it in tip-top condition during the build until January. This way you will get the most money back.
