YouTube seems crippled and slow in Firefox, while Google Chrome works fine

Reports and claims like these pop up often from time to time and it's not surprising as browser companies are always at war trying to one-up each other to gain market share or grow their user base.

A Redditor paintboth1234 suggests that the problem is due to a five-second delay, which is in the code. They write:

which does nothing but make you wait 5s (5E3 = 5000ms = 5s). You can easily search it inside

Apparently, the problem doesn't occur when using uBlock Origin, so if you're bothered by the five seconds of YouTube loading in Firefox and don't want to use a User Agent workaround, you can always use good ol' uBlock Origin.
