Apple is trying to make a name for itself in the browser space by introducing artificial intelligence to the Safari, trying to overtake Chrome, Arc, Edge, Opera, Firefox and other competitors in Europe.
According to reports, Apple is preparing two new artificial intelligence features to be integrated into Safari. These features, which are called “Encrypted Visual Search” and “Safari Browsing Assistant”, will likely be released with iOS 18, which is expected to be announced during WWDC 2024.
The company is also looking at integrating artificial intelligence functions such as chatbots or AI search functions, similar to Microsoft's Copilot AI used in Edge.
This move by Apple is in line with market trends as companies look to incorporate artificial intelligence into their products. Microsoft has already achieved this with Edge's Copilot AI, and Google is not far behind, leveraging AI to improve its products.
Coming in iOS 18:
– "Safari browsing assistant"
– "Encrypted visual search"Both features seem to use the Private Relay infrastructure to send data to Apple (so that they don't know your IP?).

However, Apple seems to be taking a different approach than its competitors. Instead of developing its own chatbot system, Apple plans to partner with outsiders such as Google, the OpenAI and Baidu, to integrate artificial intelligence features into Safari.
In addition, Apple has begun to invest more resources in artificial intelligence, moving resources from the canceled car project to the development of its own machine learning tool, Ferret-AI.
With these moves, Apple seeks to keep Safari as one of the top browsers by incorporating advanced artificial intelligence and taking its competitors seriously and innovation.
