According to new rumors, the iPhone 17 Plus which is expected to be released in 2024, will come with smaller screen compared to its predecessors, iPhone 15 Plus and 16 iPhone Plus.
The information comes from trusted analyst Ross Young of Display Supply Chain Consultants, known for the validity of his predictions.
While there are no details yet on the size of the screen, Young mentions that it will be somewhere between basic iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Pro Max. This means that the screen will probably be less than 6,7 inches, which is the size of previous Plus models.
Although the rumor comes from a reliable source, it is important to remember that it is about early information and Apple Lossless Audio CODEC (ALAC), has not confirmed anything officially. Some factors like Apple's final decision on its screen size iPhone 16 Pro Max, could affect the size of the iPhone 17 Plus.
However, the turn to a smaller screen for the iPhone 17 Plus could be a significant change in Apple's strategy. The company has until now offered Plus models with larger screens for those users who prefer a more spacious experience. The possible size reduction may indicate an attempt by Apple to differentiate further its models, making the iPhone 17 Plus more compact compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max.
Only time will tell if the rumors will be verified. We stay tuned for official announcements from Apple regarding the iPhone 17 Plus and other models in the iPhone 17 series.
