Announcement from Meta: No More Blurry Photos in Messenger

As of 2017, Messenger had the ability to send 4K photos, but the quality of the photos was often unsatisfactory. This was due to network conditions, which Meta's Liz Sweeney explained in an interview with The Verge.

However, Meta's new announcement promises to solve this problem. A new HD button is introduced in the photo selection menu in Messenger. With this button, users can send photos with much less compression, ensuring higher quality.

What's more, the upgrade isn't just limited to photos. The announced that files up to 100MB are now allowed to be uploaded, instead of the previous limit of 25MB. This paves the way for sending larger files, such as videos, which will enhance the between users.

Finally, Meta adds another interesting feature: the creation of shared albums in group discussions. When a user sends an image, it can create an album to which all members of the conversation can add photos, thus offering a new way of co-creation and social interaction.
