The battle of the smartphones never stops, and now it enters 5G in the equation!
Η Ookla, a leading network speed testing company, has just released its latest report on the 5G performance of smartphones, which also includes the new series Samsung Galaxy S24. Results; Samsung seems to be taking the lead!
According to Ookla's survey, which was conducted from February 1 to March 24 in various regions of the world (Asia-Pacific, Middle East & Africa, Europe and North America), Samsung's Galaxy S24 series (along with previous models ) surpassed the new 5G speed iPhone 15 in most of the countries examined.
Ookla specifically reports that "the Samsung Galaxy S24 family showed a statistically significant lead in average 5G download speeds in seven of the 15 countries in this study."
While the iPhone 15 managed to take the top spot in one country in terms of average 5G speed, Ookla also points out that "speed differences between Galaxy S24 devices and iPhone 15 were relatively small in some of the countries analyzed." Still, overall, the S24 devices outperformed the iPhone 15 smartphones.
For example, in the US, S24 devices averaged 34 Mbps faster than the iPhone 15 series. We saw a similar picture in countries like Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates.
